Unfortunately, ours is a world overflowing with people intent on doing evil. One form of evil that many of us have come in contact with over the years is computer viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, and other malicious software. Truly, though, software cannot have a malicious intent.  It is the authors of those programs who are malicious. Often, merely to satisfy their egos by seeing a reference to their creation on CNN.

 

Recently, authors of malicious software have discovered a new programming niche.  They have started designing apparently (and, in some cases, truly) beneficial programs such as anti-virus programs offering a free scan of your computer. Although some of these programs are legitimately beneficial, some are designed solely to provide a means of intrusion into your computer and propagation onto other systems.  The greatest irritation with software of this sort is the "free scan" offer, followed by an extensive list of "problems" and an offer to sell the user the "full program" for $50 to fix the problems. Often the list of "problems" is exaggerated in order to induce the user to make the purchase. Sometimes, the purchased software creates more problems.

 

In summary, malicious software removal is a service needed by just about every computer user, at some point. At $40 per hour, the service is reasonably priced.
